Submission – Formal Map: Metro de Santiago, Chile, 2017
Submitted by moon-monolith, who states:
This is the current map (as of May well ‘17). This edition has the definitive layout for the more recent traces beneath development (Line three and Line six). And lastly, they’ve determined not to include the airport on the map, even tho’ there is some rumors floating all-around that a planned extension of Line one or a new “Line 7” could reach it as soon as and for all.
Transit Maps states:
This is a complete new appear for the Santiago Metro diagram, formerly reviewed in 2014 and 2012. The background is now gray, with a darker place symbolizing the metropolis suitable. This operates pretty properly, even though the complete thing feels off-centred to me, with a large hole alongside the remaining edge of the webpage.
The route traces are much thicker when compared to the past edition, which is an enhancement, even though the new purple Line six normally takes a extremely wobbly path throughout the metropolis to accommodate the a bit over-complicated street grid that lies beneath the route traces. The extensive-overdue Line three lastly would make an look on the map, however it’s nevertheless demonstrated as beneath construction… beaten to the punch by the afore-pointed out Line six.
I’m unhappy to see the elimination of the BiciMetro and BiblioMetro icons, both of those of which seemed to me to be unique facets of the Metro program (And of course, I checked – both of those systems are nevertheless running). And speaking of icons, is this map entirely missing a legend?
Our score: A new appear that seems a small bolder and a lot more self-confident than past iterations. The street grid is a small fussy and overworked, but does the work. Loses some information about expert services when compared to older maps. three.five stars.
