A Mexican presidential hopeful and governor of a wealthy border condition said he would cut taxes to compete with decrease fees in the United States if President Donald Trump’s fiscal reform passes Congress, hinting at a broader possible reaction in Mexico.

Jaime Rodriguez, the governor of Nuevo Leon who is looking for to turn out to be the very first unbiased to consider the presidency, said he would decrease “many taxes” if successful.

“We’re likely to compete,” he advised Reuters on Monday. “If I make it and am capable to be president, I would decrease taxes,” he added, though he declined to give specifics.
