Serial verbs are verbs that occur stacked, alongside one another, differently from compound or auxiliary verbs, that code just 1 solitary event, or a succession of them. There perhaps several meanings implied according to language, these kinds of as instrumental, coordination, subordination, causatives, etc. Some of these meanings can be translated to English like a preposition. 

These constructions are typicall of Western Africa, creole languages of the Caribbean and the Gulf of Guinea, East and Southeast Asia and Papua New Guinea. If you know a lot more languages with serial verbs that are not on the map, be sure to tell me so I can increase them.
