The New York Times is gathering various maps on two internet web pages. The 1st web page promotions with topics like rainfall, river degree, recent and historical hurricane tracks, hurt experiences, and cities and counties below evacuation orders. Maps on the 2nd web page look at Harvey’s affect on the Houston space.
Esri’s U.S. Flooding Community Info Map includes precipitation and flood warnings.

Kenneth Field critiques the Nationwide Temperature Service’s choice to include a lot more colors to their precipitation maps (see over). “Simply adding colors to the close of an currently inadequate color plan and then building the class representing the most significant magnitude the pretty lightest color is weak symbology. But then, they’ve currently used all the colors of the rainbow so they are out of solutions!”
